VEEP ADVANCES AUSTRALIA–VIETNAM COLLABORATION ON INDUSTRIAL DECARBONISATION AND CLEAN ENERGY

A new chapter in Australia–Vietnam cooperation on clean energy and sustainable industrial development is taking shape, with VEEP (VIoT Energy Efficiency Platform) working alongside Australian and Vietnamese partners to explore practical pathways for industrial decarbonisation.

As part of a highly successful Australian clean energy delegation to Vietnam, the Australian Alumni Business Network (AABN) and the Renewable Energy Council Asia Pacific (RECAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), strengthening collaboration in renewable energy, energy transition and sustainable industrial development.

One of the most promising opportunities emerging from this collaboration is the potential decarbonisation of Long Hậu Industrial Park, with the ambition of developing a practical eco-industrial park demonstration model.

VEEP is working with Green Gold Energy, Long Hậu Industrial Park and other Australian and Vietnamese partners to explore how digitalisation, AIoT and clean-energy technologies can be integrated into a real-world industrial environment.

The potential solution ecosystem includes:

• Smart Energy Management for real-time monitoring and optimisation.

• Smart Water Management to improve resource efficiency.

• AIoT & Digital Twin technologies for intelligent infrastructure management.

• Energy Efficiency solutions to identify and reduce energy waste.

• Rooftop Solar to increase on-site renewable energy generation.

• Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to optimise energy use and flexibility.

• Smart Metering for real-time energy measurement and monitoring.

• Carbon Measurement to support emissions tracking and management.

• New Investment & Financing Models to enable commercially viable energy-transition projects.

  
  

For VEEP, this opportunity goes beyond deploying individual technologies. It represents an opportunity to demonstrate how AIoT, digital infrastructure and clean energy can work together as an integrated platform for industrial energy and environmental management.

The ambition is not limited to a single project at Long Hậu Industrial Park. The broader objective is to develop a practical, commercially viable and replicable model for industrial decarbonisation that can ultimately be adopted by industrial parks across Vietnam.

By combining energy, water and carbon data with energy-efficiency solutions, renewable energy and energy storage, industrial parks can gradually move from conventional resource management towards smarter, more efficient and lower-carbon operations. This vision is closely aligned with VEEP's mission to help businesses transform energy from a cost centre into a value and profit centre.

This emerging opportunity grew directly from the highly successful Australian clean energy delegation to Vietnam, led by RECAP and the Smart Energy Council as part of the Accessing New Markets initiative and Trade Diversification Network of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade).

The collaboration is now progressing from initial conversations towards partnerships, real-world projects and new market opportunities for Australian and Vietnamese businesses.

With capabilities across AIoT, energy efficiency, digitalisation and smart energy management, VEEP is committed to supporting businesses and industrial infrastructure throughout Vietnam’s energy transition.

The collaboration between VEEP, Australian partners, Long Hậu Industrial Park and other stakeholders has the potential to establish a real-world demonstration of a smart eco-industrial park, where digital technologies, energy efficiency and clean energy work together to create both economic and environmental value.
