At the event, Dr. Miguel Angel Ferrer, Chief Investment Officer of VEEP, shared his perspective on the pivotal role of boards of directors in driving the transition toward sustainable development. He emphasized: "As a Climate Tech company focused on turning energy from cost center to profit center, we believe sustainability begins with leadership"

This message lies at the heart of VEEP’s Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service model: not only optimizing energy usage, but also enabling businesses to embed ESG strategy meaningfully at the highest level of decision-making.

Underscoring the importance of governance, Dr. Miguel added: Strong governance and committed board involvement are not optional. They are essential for steering companies through complex transitions, ensuring accountability, and embedding long-term value into every decision

VEEP believes that as environmental risks and transformation pressures increase, only those boards that act decisively and understand the essence of long-term value can guide enterprises in the right direction.

"Independent directors play a decisive role in this process. Their ability to set direction, ask the right questions, and oversee ESG integration is what drives real impact across sectors"

We believe that independent directors are the differentiating factor. They help boards avoid inertia and elevate ESG from a compliance checklist to a core decision-making standard. That is also why VEEP is proud to support a new generation of board leadership that understands sustainability is a business necessity, not a communications exercise.

Dr. Miguel thanked VNIDA for organizing a timely and thoughtful forum, and expressed his hope to continue collaborating with independent directors and businesses that are ready to act. For VEEP, the forum was not only a platform for discussion, but a moment to encourage the implementation of practical solutions that generate real impact across the value chain.

Through VNIDA Forum 2025, VEEP reaffirms its commitment to partnering with boards of directors on the journey to fully integrate sustainability into business strategy. Because the green transition does not begin in the factory, it begins with leadership vision.
